Today I thought-
The difference between a humanist and an environmentalist is this:
A humanist places the value of a human being above all other considerations;
An environmentalist places a human being within his natural context - the environment.
Can't decide what I prefer to be..
Hm, I like to be the 2nd one only at times where it helps in being better at the first kind :) Nowadays I'm hesitant to use the term environmentalist because to the average person it implies the person cares about the environment per se, like a connoisseur of art or music.
ReplyDeleteI have noticed that even the smart ones in that tribe focus more on the impact to human life than other things. Frankly I wouldn't bother bringing the government into picture if some spot-billed pelicans are vanishing - or for that matter tigers - unless it's going to affect humans.
